Noticeable changes!

Review of Doc’s Diesel Oil Filters: A Side-by-Side ComparisonI recently had the opportunity to compare the white and black versions of Doc’s Diesel oil filters, and here’s what I found after closely inspecting and even cutting them open: 1. Improved Design with Textured Grip:The black filter comes with a nice textured grip, making it much easier to handle during installation and removal. This practical improvement is a welcome addition for anyone who has dealt with slippery filters. 2. Enhanced Filter Media:Both filters appear to use the same media material, but the black filter includes an additional pleat (56 vs. 55). While this may seem like a small difference, every bit of extra filtration media adds up, potentially contributing to better filtration over time. 3. Upgraded Seal:The black filter includes a silicone seal between the filter and the base plate, replacing the metal-on-metal design of the white filter. This upgrade should help ensure a tighter, more reliable seal, reducing the risk of leaks or contamination. 4. Better Spring Mechanism:The spring in the black filter is larger and offers more tension, which helps keep the media securely in place. This addresses a notable issue I experienced with the white filter, where the media moved around inside the can due to insufficient spring tension. After seeing these upgrades firsthand, I’m willing to give the black version of Doc’s Diesel oil filters a chance. The improved spring tension and added silicone seal are especially promising for better durability and performance. While the white filter worked, the media movement I noticed was concerning, so the changes in the black filter are a significant improvement.Overall, Doc’s Diesel has made some thoughtful and impactful design changes, making the black filter a solid choice for anyone looking for dependable oil filtration.

Oil filter for Ram 6.7 Cummins

I will not be using the oil filters from Doc’s they are not the same OD dimensions as the Mopar OEM MO-285 filter, I cannot use my filter wrench it slips around the Doc’s filter and will not grip. I also noticed the actual filter is considerably lighter in weight, not sure about the internal filtering, did not cut either filter open to compare.

Oil seal

This is the second oil filter I have used on my 6.7 liter with the seal falling off. Clearly some sort of manufacturing issue that is being overlooked. I will no longer be using your products. Engines cost too much for cutting corners. Please fix this so paying customers don’t have to worry.

cummins oil filter replacement

Can't speak to filtration quality yet. Truck still running so I guess it's ok. This filter is in a tight spot on truck and Dodge engineers didn't help things any with steel lines around it. OEM filter requires a spanner wrench to get the thing loose/tight. Your filter is just a hair smaller than the OEM, so spanner wrench wouldn't work. Normal filter wrench worked, but took awhile. Price was less than OEM, so maybe it washes out.
